Lord help me, I'm starting to believe this team could win more than 90 games... maybe we need a twelve-step group for Tribe fans.

we're bound to have downturns, but so far everything is going our way. The young guys, the old guys...Fryman, Vizquel, Bart, CC...... If this keeps up and we generate excitement and the attendance comes on strong, I believe Dolan will respond with cash for next year. Combined with the contracts that are ending... gotta wear shades, folks!

It's obvious that you guys haven't taken into account the effect of our astute manager. After all, he is a WINNER!
Seriously, if you look at team stats so far, we are leading the league in runs scored, and are third in era at 3.05. Neither trend will hold up, of course, but both are encouraging at this early stage.

Swanny, you fail to mention that you were about to swallow crow after the 11-1 start.
Now, is it the same team it was when the post was originally made?
Lawton, a frail shell who cannot steal a base because of his shoulder injury suffered during the season opening winning record of 11-1...
Cabrera, his .260 average and speed would have been a welcome addition this year, if not for his gun shot wound he didn't fully recover from....
the refusal to bench Ricky G...
Bradley, out for over a month...
Branyan, getting ejected in the first inning after his 3 consecutive home-run games back in the first week of May...if you recall Branyan at one point had 8 home-runs, Thome had 9!
Instead of proving he could be a major league ballplayer, Branyan chose to prove that he was so full of himself by ripping Hargrove in the papers after his third home-run, then getting ejected the next day in the first inning, he did not hit another homer for the Indians over the final month he was here.
Einar's cracked ribs that were not allowed to heal properly....
Burks with an injured hamstring took several weeks to round back into shape...
CC being out of shape.
It's starting to be a pretty big list...and yet we were only 5 games under five-hundred, that I find to be a big deal.

Alex, I do recall saying that things might not be as bad as I thought they would be. It certainly looked that way after the quick start. Then the team that I believed we had showed it's ugly head. It is fun going back into the archives and reading my own posts as well as others. I wasn't trying to offend you. Just having some fun. I personally owe Chuck Finley an apology for thinking he was finished.

That'a why I like archives versus chat, Those of us who remember endless amounts of banter can keep busy months later

Lawton, 30 stolen bases, Omar 30 stolen bases, Bradley, 30 stolen bases...Cabrera, 15-20 stolen bases as a reserve....
AND....I prayed that when we "scouted" Ricky G that we had figured the only reason he had only four stolen bases was because Sammy Sosa batted after him and he didn't want to take the bat out of Sammy's hand.
Remember, in addition to these stolen bases...the THREAT OF THE STOLEN BASE would have caused our power guys to get more fastballs whenever these guys were on base.
(Isn't it ironic that Brady Anderson was 4-4 in stolen base attempts!)
